The people behind the leaderboard notes

Lynxlakearcade started as a shared spreadsheet between friends who kept arguing about which .io game deserved our lunch breaks. The arguments grew longer, the notes grew more detailed, and eventually it made sense to write them up properly for anyone else trying to choose.

We focus on one niche on purpose. .io arenas look simple, and many sites treat them as interchangeable, but anyone who has played a few knows they reward completely different instincts. A great snake player can be hopeless in a tank, and a careful base builder may hate the chaos of a battle royale.

Our reviews are written from long play across many sessions, on desktop browsers and phones, at different times of day from different corners of Canada. We note what we saw, explain what it means for a new player, and score each game on the same four criteria so you can compare them honestly.

Juniper, our lynx guide, appears on every page to point the way. She has opinions about greedy loops and reckless splits, and she is usually right. If you think she, or we, got something wrong, the contact page is open.

01

Play long before writing short

No review goes up until two editors have spent many sessions in the arena, at quiet and busy hours, and have watched the game surprise them more than once.

02

Explain every number we give

Each score on our board comes with written reasons on the review page. If a number changes after an update, the explanation changes with it.

03

Keep the free player at the centre

We judge every arena as someone who never opens a store page would experience it, because that is how most people play these games.
