Lynxlake privacy in four sentences

Lynxlakearcade is built to need very little from you. There are no accounts, no sign-up forms, no comment boxes, no analytics and no advertising trackers on this site. You can read every page without telling us who you are.

The rest of this page explains the few things that do happen when you visit, and how you stay in control of them.

Pawprints live only in your browser

When you tap the heart on an arena card, the game is added to your shortlist. That list is kept in your browser’s localStorage, which is a small storage space on your own device. It is never sent to us, and we cannot see it.

The same applies to your answer on the cookie notice: your choice is remembered in your own browser so the notice does not reappear on every page. Clearing your browser data, or using a private window, removes both the shortlist and that choice.

Trails you pass to friends

If you choose to share your shortlist, the site creates a link that lists the games you saved. That link only contains game names, and it goes wherever you decide to send it.

When someone opens a shared link, they can choose to save that list in their own browser. Nothing about either of you is recorded by us in the process.

Typefaces fetched from Google Fonts

The typefaces on Lynxlakearcade are loaded from Google Fonts, a service run by Google. To deliver the font files, Google receives your IP address and basic browser details, as happens whenever a web page requests a file from another server.

Google handles that information under its own privacy policy. We receive nothing from this exchange, and we use Google Fonts only to make the pages readable and consistent.

Letters to the lakeside editors

If you write to editors@lynxlakearcade.com, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to read your note and reply to you, and we keep it only as long as that conversation needs.

We never add your address to a mailing list, and we never pass it to anyone else. If you would like an old conversation deleted, just ask.

Once you cross into a publisher’s arena

Our play buttons open each game’s official website in a new tab. Those publishers run their own services and follow their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to read before you play.

Nothing about your visit to Lynxlakearcade is passed to those sites by us; your browser simply opens their address.

PIPEDA and the rights it hands you

We handle personal information in line with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, known as PIPEDA. You can ask us what information we hold about you, which in practice is only an email conversation if you have written to us, and you can ask us to correct or delete it.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to raise a concern with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, which oversees privacy practices for organizations across the country.

If our habits ever shift

If the way Lynxlakearcade works ever changes in a way that affects your privacy, we will update this page and its revised date before the change goes live.

Questions about anything here can always go to editors@lynxlakearcade.com.
